Competent people in 10 pictures - 3/10

What's the value of your competencies? It's value is indirect, and two hurdles away. First the potential locked in competencies must materialize into performance. You need the proper context to do that. After that, you need to capture your fair share of the value created. (For the people dealing with the value of learning, it is even one more step away: learning and experience transfer into your competence, that needs to translate into performance that has value.)
