Share: the teaching organisation

Bill Taylor wrote a very interesting piece on the rise of the teaching organisation. We all are familiar with the concept of the learning organisation. Basically, a learning organisation learns as fast as the pace of change in the world and its particular business. The game for a learning organisation is to learn better and faster than competition. It makes sense in a faster changing world that is less predictable. In the article, Mr Taylor states that the real innovators, the leaders of their industry not only learn fast and good, they also share and teach. He calls it the teaching organisations.

As for me, I just keep saying the same: learn, do, share. That is the name of the competence game. Yes, organizations as well as the individuals they employ better learn non-stop to keep up with change, and indeed to beat competition with top class learning skills. But sharing will get you further. Sharing your insights will establish the organizations that lead the pack. Learn, do, share goes for organizations as well.
