How to be an expert?

I really like the graph (and article) on 'how to be an expert' on the passionate blog. So where do you want to be related to the 'suck threshold' and the 'kick ass threshold'?

Here are some striking quotes from the article:
  • The only thing standing between you-as-amateur and you-as-expert is dedication.
  • According to some brain scientists, almost anyone can develop world-class (or at least top expertise) abilities in things for which they aren't physically impaired.
  • Maybe the "naturally talented artist" was simply the one who practiced a hell of a lot more.
  • Most of us want to practice the things we're already good at, and avoid the things we suck at. We stay average or intermediate amateurs forever.
  • "a rage to master."

The passion to do better, to keep going, are what differentiates the amateur from the expert.
